Exploring the Digital Frontier in Real Estate

Hello everyone! I'm Doctor Jen, your host at "My Life as a Landlord." In today's digital age, where business increasingly pivots on technology, understanding the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in real estate can give us a substantial edge. Joining us from chilly Ottawa is Alex Thoric, a marketing expert whose insights into AI and digital strategies are reshaping how we approach real estate marketing and management.

The Evolution of a Marketing Guru

Alex started his journey in the marketing world six years ago with a close friend, and despite initial doubts about mixing friendship with business, they thrived. They each developed their own agencies, frequently exchanging ideas and clients, which enriched their expertise. This collaboration led them to identify fundamental patterns in service-based businesses, which are remarkably consistent across the board. Today, Alex runs a marketing consultancy and training company, empowering business owners to build and manage effective marketing systems independently.

The Power of AI in Marketing

One fascinating aspect Alex introduced is the '7-11-4' rule, a formula developed by Google to determine the amount of engagement needed to convert someone into a customer. This rule stipulates that a customer should engage for at least seven hours, have 11 touchpoints, and encounter your brand on four different platforms to be effectively persuaded to purchase. Understanding and implementing such strategies can significantly enhance how we engage potential clients and tenants in real estate.

Navigating AI Tools: Free vs. Paid

A common query in today's tech-driven market is the necessity of paid AI tools over free versions. Alex uses AI to streamline operations, from content creation to customer management. While free AI tools like ChatGPT offer substantial capabilities, paid versions provide enhanced features, such as extensive editing tools or the ability to handle more complex tasks, making them invaluable for in-depth projects.

Integrating AI into Everyday Business

Alex stressed the importance of integrating AI into regular business operations to save time and increase efficiency. AI can handle mundane tasks like scheduling and email management, allowing real estate professionals to focus on more strategic activities. This shift not only speeds up operations but also keeps businesses ahead in a rapidly evolving market.

Today's discussion with Alex Thoric opened up new avenues for using AI in real estate, from enhancing marketing strategies to managing daily administrative tasks. As we continue to navigate the digital landscape, embracing these technologies can lead to more streamlined operations and better customer engagement. Stay tuned for more insights on leveraging technology in real estate, and don't forget to follow the podcast for the latest updates in landlord education.
